The QP-5000 System
The GCMS-QP5000 compact, high-performance quadrupole mass spectrometer combines exceptional performance with easy operation. Even first-time users can easily perform an analysis, evaluate the results, and print a report.
Exceptional Sensitivity
Operating within a mass range of 10-700 AMU, the GCMS-QP5000 can detect 10 pg of hexachlorobenzene with a S/N ratio of 20:1 in scan mode (SIM mode is even more sensitive). Unit mass resolution is achieved with scan speeds up to 50 scans/sec and 6,750 AMU/sec. The MS is paired with our GC-17A gas chromatograph, which uses our Advanced Flow Control (AFC). Shimadzu's gas control system is "state of the art," ensuring excellent reproducibility of results.
Rapid, Efficient Vacuum System
A high vacuum is maintained inside the analyzer housing by a 50 L/sec turbomolecular pump backed by a rotary pump providing for 2 mL/min of flow. Down-time is minimal, because our system can achieve an oil-free vacuum in less than 5 minutes!
Accessible Design
Instrument components which contact the sample are easily reached through the door on the front of the instrument. The instrument itself takes up very little benchtop space.
